Whale Watching

A free and fun activity to do during the cooler winter months is whale watching. Byron Bay gives you a front row seat to catch sight of these beautiful creatures. We recommend heading to the historic Cape Byron Lighthouse for the best chance of spotting the whales. Alternatively, if you’re a big fan, you can take a whale watching tour. LA CASITA

CHUPACABRA 

Inspired by the cuisines of coastal Mexico, the chefs are passionate about their subject and are excellent hosts. Expect to be served whole grilled local fish to share in a DIY-taco situation, hot tortillas, salsas, salads and so much more!

LOCURA 

The six-person chef collective have added a short menu of dishes at Locur, inspired by their adventures in Latin america- tacos, corn, salsa. From a bar kitchen, food is only served until 8:30pm, however it is worth visiting to lose yourself in the early hours of the morning.

Discover the Hinterland

Discover green rolling hills, world heritage national parks and charming villages while visiting Byron. Standing above the hinterland and visible from Main Beach is the summit of Wollumbin Mount Warning. You can hike up to this hinterland high point within two hours. We can tell you that it’s definitely worth it from the panoramic views that reach from the ocean in the east to the rolling fields in the west. If it’s a rainy day, you can hop in the car and drive through the hinterland revealing beautiful landscapes that will have you stopping often to capture the views and update the gram’.
